Tolerance of sugarcane varieties to different levels of water depletion on soil

Sugarcane is one of the most important crops for Brazilian agribusiness, despite water stress being main limiting factors growth and productivity. Thus, objective was to verify if there variation in tolerance deficit among sugarcane varieties soil climate conditions Quirinópolis-GO (State Goiás). The trial conducted on a Red Latosol, with planted Mar/2019, 15 buds m-1 an environment 532 mm during period from May September. It used randomized blocks, four repetitions, factorial scheme (3x8), three varieties: CTC4, RB966928 RB867515, eight f (soil depletion factor): 0.36, 0.41, 0.46, 0.55, 0.60, 0.72, 0.84, 0.87. data were subjected mean comparison test quadratic regression. observed that statistically differed when same factor, regarding stomatal conductance-Gs, leaf transpiration-E, liquid photosynthesis-Lp, reflecting penalty productivity culm sugar, total recoverable sugar content, juice purity, sucrose content culm, fiber moisture. factor identified avoiding 0.50 0.49 0.47 CTC4. Key words: Water balance, Saccharum officinarum, depletion, index.
